Technological Achievements

The SOLUS meter was designed with biosensor technology that uses the glucose oxidase enzyme to break down blood glucose. The movie itself contains 4 leads, and most movies on the market today only have 3 leads.

How does that benefit you? The more leads a glucose test strip contains, the more information and data can be transmitted to the meter. This is important and has the advantages of achieving better, more accurate control.

Eg: Most speaker meters on the market today contain only 3 leads. If you have or have used a talking meter in the past, you rely heavily on the accuracy of the sound effect. Unfortunately, most talking meters will give you a LOW LOW result if you don't have enough blood. The SOLUS V2 is so sophisticated that it alerts you to the sound of “Insufficient Blood, Please Test Again!” (Insufficient blood count, repeat check!). It will NOT lead to a FALSE LOW result, which reduces the risk of morbidity and mortality.

SOLUS Spin Action

Spin action is a powerful current that draws blood from the checkpoint and quickly transfers it to the tape. This action results in faster, more accurate results and reduces the chance of error. Rapid absorption of blood into the test strip provides enormous benefit to anyone suffering from neuropathy and can greatly reduce the irritation they may feel due to their inability to transfer the appropriate amount of blood to the test strip.

Control Skills

The film was designed to pump blood at a very fast pace. When glucose reacts with the reagents in the test strips, electricity is produced which is proportional to the concentration of glucose in the blood sample. The glucose concentration is calculated from the meter and the electricity measured. Upon contact, the tape and meter work together to give you a measurement similar to that of blood glucose detected in your plasma.

< The SOLUS V2 test strips are designed to be large and easy to use. We knew that many patients suffer from diabetic neuropathy and that handling test strips can be difficult. The larger film helps reduce the irritation that can be created during the audit process. The film bottle also has a large nozzle that facilitates access to the films.

Ease of Use

Like the large screen on the SOLUS V2 counter, the film be clearly marked to indicate which end should be inserted into the meter and which side is the top. These features eliminate confusion when it's time to check.
