BIBLIOGRAPHY:

The increased accumulation of cholesterol in hair follicles that are in telogen phase is considered responsible for obstructing the transition of the follicles to an anagen phase thus resulting in prohibiting hair growth in andogenetic alopecia (1, 4, 5, 6).

The combination of the ingredients Polysorbate-60 and Polysorbate-80 has been proved to increase the removal of cholesterol and other androgen steroid hormones from the follicles by modifying the transit of these substances from the cell membrane (1, 2, 3, 4).

Clinical studies on men and women aged 17-64 with andogenetic alopecia that were submitted to local treatment for 6 months with a mixture containing Polysorbate-60 & Polysorbate-80 showed that:

  • Considerable hair improvement in 78% of the volunteers that had androgenetic alopecia for 1-3 years.
  • Considerable hair improvement in 43% of the volunteers that had androgenetic alopecia for more than 5 years.
  • Considerable reduction of increased seborrhea on the scalp in 93% of the volunteers.
  • Excellent tolerance in 95% of the volunteers.
