Description
Atopic dermatitis, or atopic eczema, is a skin condition that is accompanied by redness and intense itching. It occurs very often in children / infants as a result of which it significantly affects their quality of life and their family3.
What really happens to atopic skin, why is it itching and what should we do to stop it?
Simply put, in atopic skin, the epidermal barrier is disrupted, and shows reduced cohesion. This results in the constant percutaneous loss of water, which causes the skin to dry out, while at the same time irritants and allergens enter the skin through the "defective" skin barrier.

Instructions for use
Bepanthene Eczema is indicated for the relief of itching and redness caused by atopic dermatitis / atopic eczema or dry skin.
It does not contain cortisone and can be used daily, as many times as necessary on the affected, wound-free skin.
Suitable for use in infants *, children, adults (and during breastfeeding & pregnancy).

Action mechanism:
Bepanthene Eczema provides the skin with lipids similar to those of the stratum corneum. In this way it normalizes the structure of the horseshoe lipids of the skin, improves the dryness, and then the itching, contributing substantially to the improvement of the function of the skin barrier1,6,7. Provitamin B5, or dexpanthenol, after being absorbed by the skin, is converted to the pharmacologically active pantothenic acid which is essential for the biosynthesis of skin lipids. This increases the hydration of the stratum corneum and reduces the transdermal water loss, thus keeping the skin hydrated8-11. Finally, glycerin accumulates throughout the thickness of the stratum corneum, trapping and retaining water in it, thus ensuring long-term hydration.12
